A video of an anti-Indian commentator was shared on social media in a false claim, claiming to be an Indian who is the founder and CEO of Himalaya Drug Company

On the messaging platform WhatsApp there was a message published that stated that Muhammad Manal, the owner of Himalaya Drug Company, posted an anti-Indian statement on his Facebook page. The video features an individual who is who is encouraging Muslim youngsters to think of India as a positive place.False information suggests that the video originates from the founder the company Himalaya Drug Company

In 1930, Muhammed Manal was the founder of in 1930 the Himalayan Drug Company. Their headquarters and headquarters company is located in Bengaluru (Karnataka). It makes primarily health care products and has a variety of products that are based upon Ayurvedic herbs. Their productsare very well-loved, not only in India, but also in other countries such as the United States, Middle East and around the world. The company is currently selling their products throughout more than 106 countries. Liv 52 is the most known Himalayan product. It is a product that improves liver health. It was first introduced in 1955.

Social media messages

If the video is authentic, Muhammad Manal is the founderand the owner of Himalayan Drug Company. As the company was established in 1930 and was founded in 1930, it makes sense that this younger person in this video to have at least 100 years of age. However, the fact is that Mr. Manal died in 1986 so the person in the video can't be him.

Reply to Himalaya Drug Company

Himalaya posted a post on the social networks on the 14th of October warning that fake content and WhatsAppforwards had been posted about Himalaya. It also stated that the companyis well run and is reputable. The company advised that anyone who has posted or emailed the fake message must take it down immediately or be pursuing legal actions.

It's not the first time that Himalaya Drug Co is dealing with such a problem. Similar messages circulated through WhatsApp and social media in March of 2020. Many posts that claimed of Himalaya Drug Company funds terrorists were over the social media platforms with photos of Philipe Haydon (President and CEO of Himalaya Drug Company). The post stated that M. Manal, the founder of Himalaya Drug Company was shown in the photograph.

The company also posted an apology at the time, stating that all posts about Himalaya on social media platforms are fake. The company further added the following: Himalaya Drug Company was a pre-independence wellness brand "Made In India", that is a follower of the religion "healing".

In search of the personin the video

A little research on the website of the company has revealed the fact that M. Manal is not the person that is featured in the video. Actually, the founder died in 1986, about 35 years ago. We set out to figure out who is the person is in the video. We found numerous social media accounts which were operated by Naqi Ahmed Nadwi who is an Saudi Arabian citizen, after some research with Google's reverse-image searches. Although there was a link to his Facebook page there was no information regarding his personal information. The default parking page was all that it was. The registration was made in May of this year.
